PERMISSION OF POLYGAMY IN ISLAM

Abstract

Polygamy in islam is due to certain reasons and logic and basic cause is solution of social problems . Whatever marriages were done by prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) all were due to instruction and command of Allah Almighty. By these marriages some standards and rules were given to the society like how husband should deal with a woman who was widow and how to fulfill psychological requirements of a bachelor one? how to treat with a woman younger than husband and what attitude should be with a woman who is elder than her husband. How nikkah with women of various tribes, families can bring them closer and can create harmony. The basic purpose is the solution of social problems.one of the biggest problem today faced by our society is that many girls remain bachelor because due to certain reason they can not faced their match and there is failure to provide shelter and protection to widows and divorced. The solution of all these problems lies in polygamy according to the guidance and instruction of islamic sharia.
