اجتماعی اجتہاد کی شرعی حیثیت اور اس کی تنفیذ-ایک تحقیقی مطالعہ
Abstract
This thesis undertakes a thorough examination of the concept of "اجتماعی اجتہاد" (Collective Ijtihad) within the framework of Islamic teachings. Ijtihad, a term rooted in Islamic jurisprudence, traditionally refers to independent legal reasoning. This research focuses specifically on the collective dimension of Ijtihad, exploring its theological foundations, historical evolution, and contemporary relevance. The study begins by delving into the historical context of Ijtihad in classical Islamic thought, highlighting its role in adapting Islamic jurisprudence to changing circumstances. It then shifts its focus to the contemporary era, analyzing the need for and challenges associated with collective Ijtihad in addressing complex social and ethical issues faced by Muslim communities worldwide. The article examines the theological and legal underpinnings that support the idea of collective Ijtihad, emphasizing the collaborative nature of decision-making within the Islamic framework. Drawing on Quranic principles, Hadith, and scholarly interpretations, it explores how collective Ijtihad can serve as a mechanism for fostering unity, inclusivity, and adaptability within the Muslim ummah.
